Upper Years

As young people grow into their teenage years, we strive to surround them with affirmation and acceptance of who they are and who they are becoming; we help provide opportunities for growing skills, knowledge and experiences; and we strive to guide them towards sense of purpose rooted in responsibility.

As a part-time programme for registered home educating young people, we provide a breadth of themes and experiences over three days a week, and offer a range of qualification pathways. Each young person has time to create a portfolio of experiences outside of their time at The Grove separate from our programme, which may involve subject specific study (many do GCSEs), skills development, creative practice, outdoor pursuits or anything else they wish!

As the young people progress through these years, they encounter a growing space for self-expression and leadership responsibilities. We give opportunities for them to move toward ‘interdependence’, and a sense of social responsibility. Our team offers support within our programme, as well as guidance toward further and higher education, training, volunteering and/or employment.

Our programme incorporates CFI Integrative Education qualifications, with opportunities given each year for students to complete a qualification, should they wish to graduate from The Grove, as well as the opportunity to progress to the next stage of the qualifications with us.
